Types of Insulation
Blown-in Insulation – Also known as loose-fill insulation, it can be used for walls, ceilings, attics, and small spaces without any hassle. Because this type of insulation is made of small fiber and foam particles, it is used to seal small gaps and is considered an environmentally friendly option.
Rock Wool Insulation – This type of blown-in insulation uses blast furnace slag and other minerals combined to form an airy product. Also called mineral wool insulation, this is an excellent fire-resistant insulation option
Rigid Foam Insulation – This type of insulation is used for a wide range of residential and commercial applications because of its energy-efficient and moisture resistant nature. It can help effectively seal gaps and air leaks, maintain indoor air temperature, and adds structural strength to the walls.
Blanket Insulation – This type of insulation is used for both new and retrofit construction in unfinished walls, floors, and ceilings. Available in the shapes of blanket batts and rolls, these are made of fiberglass, plastic and natural fibers, mineral wool, etc. The topmost advantage of blanket insulation is that they are readily available and are easy to install.
Spray Foam Insulation – In this type of insulation, liquid foam is sprayed wherever needed, which then turns into effective insulation material. The significant advantages of spray foam insulation are that it can fill small cavities and reduce air leakage.
